Why You Shouldn't Be Afraid To Start The Home-Buying Process Today

Potential homebuyers got worried they missed their chance when the Federal government began to raise interest rates following a wild housing market, but Aksarben Mortgage’s expert advisers insist it’s still a good time to buy a house.

“Rates were lower at the beginning of the year, that’s true,” said Aksarben Mortgage Advisor Leslie Larson. “They’ve been a little bit higher, but we always like to say ‘you marry the house and date the rate.’ So it's a great time still to buy. I think a lot of people are hesitant of doing that right now. But houses are still appreciating.”

Sure, your mortgage payment can go up. But, it’s also possible for your monthly mortgage payment amount to fluctuate several times throughout the term of the loan. Keep in mind this is often caused by factors other than your payment going up, such as an increase in home value, property taxes and replacement costs, or home insurance and your taxes.
